Explode pulls the volume apart into bricks, so the interior these three features act on is visible without a clip plane. Drag Gradient opacity to fade homogeneous interior and keep edges; add Silhouette to fade whatever faces the camera, leaving rims.  |  Brick cut faces are not edges: each brick's gradient is built with a halo into its neighbours, so the estimator never sees the cut.
